American Honda Motor Company announced it is recalling 7,600 Ridgeline trucks from the 2006-07 model years.

Honda has stated that a wiring harness connector for the blower motor in the heating and air conditioning system located above the passenger foot well may come loose and become prone to kicking by the passenger.

Kicking the connector may cause it to be damaged which could result in the connector or the wire insulation to heat and melt, creating a fire hazard.

The safety recall should begin in February when owners of the affected Ridgelines can have the wiring harness inspected for free. If the connector is damaged, it will be replaced at no charge. All models involved in the recall will have a protective cover installed to protect the connector from further incidental contact.

If you have questions about the recall you can contact American Honda Motor Company at 1-800-999-1009 or checkout the recall bulletin.
